FestivAgent

Privacy

FestivAgent is built to work locally. It has no user account, advertising SDK or analytics SDK, and it does not send your lineup, saved schedule or AI questions to me.

What stays on your phone

Installed festival data, starred sets, settings and the optional AI model are stored on your device. AI answers are generated on-device. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to Android’s normal backup behaviour.

Downloads and festival imports

When the app checks for or downloads the optional AI model, it connects to GitHub-hosted resources. GitHub will receive ordinary technical request data such as your IP address and user agent under its own privacy terms.

If you choose to search or import a schedule from Clashfinder, the app sends that search or import request to Clashfinder. FestivAgent does not add your name, email address or FestivAgent crowd identity to that request.

Ask the Crowd

Nearby chat is optional. When you start it, FestivAgent creates a random nickname and colour for that session and uses Google Nearby Connections to discover and connect with nearby FestivAgent devices over Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi.

Messages can be relayed through other nearby FestivAgent devices to extend their reach. They are not sent to a FestivAgent server, but they are not end-to-end encrypted: devices relaying a direct message carry its plaintext while forwarding it. Use the feature for casual festival coordination, not confidential or sensitive information.

Your random crowd identity, nearby connections and message history are temporary and are cleared when you stop the crowd session or close the app session. Other people may still retain or record messages they received.

Nearby permissions

Android requires Bluetooth and nearby Wi‑Fi permissions for crowd chat. On Android 11 and earlier, the operating system also requires location permission for nearby Bluetooth discovery. FestivAgent does not read, store or transmit your GPS location.

Notifications

Android may ask for notification permission so long-running downloads can show progress. FestivAgent does not use push notifications or a remote notification service.
