SWCP Tracker — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 July 2026
The short version
SWCP Tracker does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything you record in the app stays on your phone.
Data stored on your device
Your walking progress, dates, journal notes and any photos you attach are stored only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere. If you use the export feature, a backup file is written to a location you choose; that file is under your control. Uninstalling the app deletes its data (subject to Android's standard device backup of the progress database, which is encrypted by Android and managed by your Google account settings).
No accounts, no analytics, no ads
The app has no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics SDKs and no crash-reporting SDKs. We have no servers and receive nothing from your device.
Map tiles
The map view downloads its background map images ("tiles") from Thunderforest, a third-party map provider (with OpenTopoMap as a fallback). Like any web request, a tile request exposes your IP address and the map area being requested to the provider. No account information or identity is sent — the app has none to send. See the Thunderforest privacy policy. Downloaded tiles are cached on your device so previously viewed areas work offline.
Photos
When you attach a photo to a journal entry, the app uses Android's photo picker, which lets you share only the specific photo you choose. The app has no general access to your photo library and requests no camera or storage permissions.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If a future version of the app ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated here before that version is released.
